Using The Platform
Once the Internet activism platform has been set up, it is time to drive traffic (contacts and potential recruits) to it. There are eight ways of building traffic, in decreasing order of effectiveness:
(1) Posting (the Mantra and your blog’s web address) in the comments sections of other people’s blogs; (2) Posting same in message boards (forums); (3) Posting to user groups; (4) Trading links with other bloggers/webmasters (reciprocal links); (5) Posting your blog's web adress in link and blog directories; (6) Search engine optimization. This involves hyperloading your pages with text (keyword rich) and maximizing the number of websites linking to your (link popularity). This approach is very effective under normal circumstances. However, our blogs will contain just the Mantra which will anyway be dismissed as duplicates by search engine algorithms. Consequently, it is a dead end as far as we are concerned, so ignore it; (7) Email spamming. This is not worth it unless your are working an industrial-sized email list. It will probably just get you kick out by your ISP anyway; (8) Banner/link exchange programs. This is a total waste of time. If you get more than three hits out of a banner exchange program call the Guiness Book of Records right away.
In my experience the first method is the most effective. This guide will focus on it.
Although an individual message board is on average more effective than an individual blog, there are hundreds of blogs for each message board. I believe you’re better off mass posting in blogs provided you focus on quantity.
